Edgar Ramirez Possibly Joining Scott Derrickson's 'Doctor Strange'

Marvel is in the midst of getting their Phase Three title Doctor Strange together with Sinister and Deliver Us from Evil director Scott Derrickson working from a script by Prometheus scribe Jon Spaihts. Of course, we're still waiting to see who will play the mystical hero, with Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hardy on Marvel's shortlist of possible stars, and Jared Leto potentially being in the running too. Now another name may be considered for a role, but not necessarily the lead. IGN recently spoke to Edgar Ramirez, who stars in Deliver Us from Evil, and decided to ask him if there was a chance he would join Doctor Strange.
Unsurprisingly, Ramirez's response was vague, but he did say, "We’re talking. We’ve been talking.” It's unlikely that Marvel would get Ramirez to play Doctor Strange, but he could easily take a supporting role in the film, perhaps even playing whatever villain might create trouble for our hero. This doesn't mean Ramirez is in talks, but having a discussion with the film's director about a role sounds pretty promising. Oh, and just to add to the speculation of casting, Jared Leto won't take the starring role in Brilliance, as was recently reported, so could he have landed the Doctor Strange gig? We'll have to wait and see.

at this point i'm going to be monumentally disappointed if Jared Leto isn't Dr. Strange.
