First Look: Hugh Jackman & Flying Pirate Ships in 'Joe Wright's 'Pan'
by Ethan Anderton
November 24, 2014
Over the summer, we learned that Hugh Jackman completely shaved his head in order to play the villainous pirate Blackbeard in Joe Wright's new adaptation of the classic tale of Peter Pan. The new fantasy adventure is simply called Pan, and it definitely offers a new spin on J.M. Barrie's classic characters. This version finds Peter as a young orphan in World War II who never grew up. He ends up getting kidnapped by Blackbeard's pirates and taken away to Neverland. And while this Neverland is still full of pirate ships, this time they also happen to fly. And we have a first look at the title hero, Jackman wearing an unconvincing wig (though we think that's the idea) and these cool flying ships. Look below!
Here's our first look at Joe Wright's Pan straight from Entertainment Weekly:
Pan is directed by Joe Wright (Atonement, Anna Karenina, Hanna) and written by Jason Fuchs (Ice Age: Continental Drift). Based on J.M. Barrie's classic, the film tells the story of an orphan who is spirited away to the magical Neverland. There, he finds both fun and dangers, and ultimately discovers his destiny -- to become the hero who will be forever known as Peter Pan. Newcomer Levi Miller plays the title hero with Garrett Hedlund as Hook and Hugh Jackman as Blackbeard. Amanda Seyfried, Rooney Mara and more also star in the film which Warner Bros. Pictures has already slated for release July 17th, 2015 next summer.

Somebody should do a compilation of all the Hollywood posters that have the tagline "Every Legend Has a Beginning" (or variation thereof).

Better be a live giant croc in this movie! (not a dead, clock tower holding crocodile or a 10 legged giant crocodile).

Looks like great fun. Interesting take on Hook. I wonder which hand he'll lose. The right, as Barrie wrote it originally or the left as so many movies mistakenly show.
