Foo Fighters ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

If you've been on the internet at all the past couple weeks, you've undoubtedly seen the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, a charity trend sweeping the nation to raise money to fight against amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Many people seem to think that Charlie Sheen delivered the best video of this challenge by dumping $10,000 in cash on his head, all of which he was donating to the cause. However, Dave Grohl and his band Foo Fighters have taken this fun, charitable trend to incredible new heights by creating an elaborate recreation of the infamous pig's blood scene at the prom in Stephen King's Carrie. It's awesome. Watch!

Here's the Foo Fighters ALS Ice Bucket Challenge video (via Rolling Stone):

Grohl was challenged by friend and fellow musician Zac Brown of the appropriately named Zac Brown Band, and following this impressive video, the rock and roll frontman challenged Stephen King, writer of the book on which the film Carrie is based, and John Travolta, one of the stars of the 1976 film. And we're thankful that they chose to use clips from the original film adaptation as opposed to the bland remake. And as a bonus, Grohl also challenged Jack Black, because why not? If you want to donate to the ALS Association or learn more without all this ice water challenge stuff, head to their official website right here. Good stuff?

Well, I do give them A for effort, and they did mention the actual cause but this would have been way better if it was half the length and the slow mo.
