Frances McDormand Back with Coen Brothers with 'Hail Caesar' Role
by Ethan Anderton
September 5, 2014
Besides delivering her most well-known performance in Fargo for Joel & Ethan Coen, actress Frances McDormand also has the honor of being married to the former of the sibling filmmaking duo. McDormand has popped up in other Coen films like Raising Arizona, Burn After Reading and The Man Who Wasn't There, and now she's getting back in front of the camera with them again with their newest comedy Hail Caesar. The film has George Clooney on board to lead the film as Eddie Mannix, who works for the movie studios of Hollywood as a fixer, protecting the reputations of their biggest stars from becoming tarnished.
The Daily Beast learned from McDormand herself that she has a role in the film, but it's not clear who she'll play. In addition, Variety has word that Beautiful Creatures and Blue Jasmine star Alden Ehrenreich has landed a role as well. The two join quite an impressive cast that already has Channing Tatum, Scarlett Johansson, Jonah Hill, Josh Brolin, Tilda Swinton and Ralph Fiennes on board. This sounds like it'll be a big ensemble affair, perhaps with these stars having smaller roles rather than meaty supporting parts. After all, everyone wants to work with the Coen Brothers. Stay tuned to see if this cast gets even bigger.
