Full US Trailer for David Gordon Green's Indie 'Joe' with Nicolas Cage
After an international trailer popped up recently, the full theatrical US trailer for David Gordon Green's new film Joe has arrived, and it looks like it might contain a Nicolas Cage performance worthy of praise. The film follows a man with a dark past named Joe Ransom (Cage), who is hesitant to unleash his anger when he witnesses an alcoholic father making hell for a teenage boy (Tye Sheridan) and his struggling family. This looks like a return to proper indie roots for Green (along with last year's Prince Avalanche) and a fantastic role for Cage to shake off some of the box office schlock he's turned in lately. Watch the trailer!
Here's the full US trailer for David Gordon Green's Joe, originally from Apple:
In the dirty unruly world of small-town Texas, ex-convict Joe Ransom (Nicolas Cage) has tried to put his dark past behind him and to live a simple life. He works for a lumber company by day, drinks by night. But when 15-year-old Gary (Tye Sheridan) – a kid trying to support his family – comes to town, desperate for work, Joe has found a way to atone for his sins and finally be someone’s hero. As Joe tries to protect Gary, the pair will take the twisting road to redemption in the hope for a better life. Joe is directed by David Gordon Green and written by Gary Hawkins, based on Larry Brown's book of the same name. The film premiered at the Venice & Toronto Film Festivals. Lionsgate will be releasing Joe in theaters on April 11th.

Genuinely impressed by this. I had pretty much given up on Cage ever making a serious comeback, but this looks excellent.
