'G.I. Joe' Actor Luke Bracey is Johnny Utah in Remake of 'Point Break'

We already know Gerard Butler (300, Gamer) is taking the role once originated by Patrick Swayze in the remake of Point Break from Ericson Core, the director of photography from The Fast and the Furious (the first film from 2001) and Daredevil and director of the sports drama Invincible. And now we have word on who will take the role played by Keanu Reeves in Kathryn Bigelow's 1991 action thriller. THR reports G.I. Joe: Retaliation actor Luke Bracey will play Johnny Utah, the FBI agent who must infiltrate a group of extreme sports nuts who live life surfing big waves, but get some extra thrills from robbing banks. Read on!
If you don't recognize Bracey, that's because he's a relatively unknown actor. And if you still don't recognize him after learning he was in G.I. Joe: Retaliation, that's because we didn't see his face in the sequel, because Bracey played Cobra Commander, the role vacated by Joseph Gordon-Levitt from the first film. It seems Bracey is making a habit of taking roles previously portrayed by better known actors. Anyway, the unnecessary remake is slated to shoot this summer, and we couldn't be less excited. While it would be great if this film was surprisingly good, all signs point to the opposite. Thoughts?

I don't think I've ever been this upset about a remake.

Who the heck did this guy play in that new G.I.Joe...oh the Cobra 10 second appearance Commander. I seriously love when people get pissed off about remakes and yet still if someone is talking about a remake of their own favorite movie that same person would say give it a chance. Double standards huh? NOW YOU KNOW WHAT IT FEELS SUCKA! Now give this remake a chance!

You gotta admit though... if someone asked you, "Hey... Damon King... here's (?)... 50 million bucks... remake ANY movie you want." IF you got to do that 50 times... I'd bet Point Break wouldn't have made the cut. Maybe even top 100? If they do nab Gerard Butler though, it may make some monies. He could probably pull off a good Bodie. (Bodey?)

As you can see by my pic, i love point break. I doubt the remake that will be better than that of the original but perhaps it'll be enjoyable on another level. We all have to face the harsh reality that remakes are going to be made. If we go in thinking these movies will reflect the greatness of the original, then im afriad everyone will be left disappointed again and again. Just enjoy the movie for what it is..............OR, just dont watch em.
