Aidan Gillen

Irish actor Aidan Gillen is no stranger to enormous fanbases since he's better known for playing the series regular character Littlefinger on the HBO fantasy epic "Game of Thrones." And now he's gearing up for some big screen adaptation work too as THR reports Gillen will be taking a role in Maze Runner: Scorch Trials, the sequel to this month's box office hit which has been fast-tracked for release on September 18th, 2015. Fox announced the sequel would head into production next month after the first film performed very well at the box office, following in the fast sequel steps of the Divergent franchise. Read on!

Now if you haven't seen the first film yet, you'll probably want to steer clear of the rest of this story, because there are some spoilers abound. The second film in the series, adapted from James Dashner's book series, follows the escaped teenage heroes who survived the maze and have now found themselves on the run on an Earth that is now a desolate wasteland, ravaged by solar flares. Gillen will be playing Janson, a character who becomes the main villain of the series and He comes to be referred to as Rat-Man. You might also recognize Gillen from the opening sequence in The Dark Knight Rises when he interrogated Bane, but this time it sounds like he'll be doing the intimidating. Sound good?

This guy plays sicko well. I love his portrayal of Baelish on GAME OF THRONES. Very excited for this performance, just not the film.

His character in Thrones is super good.

Gotta agree, he plays his character in Game of Thrones very well, though I'm not familiar with the "Maze" series. He did have a very small, yet interesting role in "The Dark Knight Rises," at the very beginning.
