After a teaser trailer debuted for the film before the premiere at the Telluride Film Festival, a theatrical trailer for Gia Coppola's short story omnibus Palo Alto has arrived. Based on a collection of short stories by James Franco (who also stars in the film himself), the film features Emma Roberts as part of a group of teenagers dealing with their own complicated lives and decisions in the title California locale. There's a virginal soccer player with a crush on her coach, artists with seemingly no boundaries and plenty more in this film that feels like a sort of abstract John Hughes project. Worth a look? Watch the full trailer below!
Here's the full trailer for Gia Coppola's Palo Alto, originally from Yahoo:
Gia Coppola, granddaughter of Francis Ford Coppola, writes/directs Palo Alto, based on a collection of short stories by James Franco, who also stars in the film. From the Telluride Film Festival guide: Welcome to the Bizarro John Hughes world; this is a suburban-teen comedy gone all wrong. The kids know everything about sex, substances and suicide, but can’t begin to figure out how or what they feel. Emma Roberts leads an unforgettable cast that includes Franco, 17-year-old Jack Kilmer (his father Val plays a supporting role) and Colleen Camp. The film premiered at Telluride, but doesn't have an official release date yet. Look good?

I like that a lot, especially the song! Excited to see what Sofia's niece can do 🙂

Looks good. Shows some concepts that rarely get explored deep enough in other high school movies. Almost David Lynch like.
