'Gravity' Composer Hired to Score Marvel & Edgar Wright's 'Ant-Man'

The cast for Ant-Man has filled out rather nicely with Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas playing Scott Lang and Hank Pym, two different versions of the tiny titular hero. In addition, Evangeline Lily is in talks for the female lead and Michael Pena has some sort of role. They'll all be under the direction of Shaun of the Dead and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World director Edgar Wright, and the filmmaker himself has just revealed another great talent working behind the scenes. Steven Price, who just won a BAFTA for composing the score to Gravity, not to mention being nominated for an Oscar, has been hired to score the Marvel film.
This might be the best composer hire for a Marvel film since Alan Silvestri took on The Avengers. However, when it comes to the themes and compositions for Marvel films, they don't seem to be quite as iconic as previous superhero soundtracks. Maybe Price can make the score stand out a little more and actually give Ant-Man some power through music. The Avengers is probably the best composition work in a Marvel film yet, but we have no doubt that someone like Price, who was an integral part of the film's sound (mostly because there isn't any real sound in space) and impact. Good news?

I think it should also be worth noting he also worked with Edgar Wright on The World's End, which is what may have been the real factor towards this choice. Why is everybody who is reporting this news simply ignoring it just because it wasn't nominated at all, it's as equally good.

The Iron Man 3 and Captain America: The First Avenger Scores were pretty cool, the end credits were both very catchy themes. I think you mean that they're not catchy because they're not consistent with composers, since they change them out and also change the themes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TsJE3_7vAMw

I definitely like that one track from the Iron Man 3 score, but it's the only standout theme from the film as well.

I see your points, It's not like John Williams's Superman score, or even Danny Elfman's Spider-man, it doesn't really stick with you too much like those did.
