'Hot Tub Time Machine' Helmer is Sleeping 'Overnight' at Disney

Back in February, we reported that Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer was going to venture into family adventure territory with Overnight, a toy store heist film set up at Disney. However, it seems like a deal couldn't be finalized as THR reports that it will be Hot Tub Time Machine and About Last Night director Steve Pink taking on the film with a script from 22 Jump Street writer Oren Uziel. The film is simply described as Home Alone in a toy store as it follows a father and son who win the chance to sleepover in some sort of amazing toy store like FAO Schwarz.. But it happens to be the night that some guys try to rob it.
The father and son bond after having a rough relationship following a divorce while stopping the robbery that turns into a hostage situation. Funnily enough, the project was originally set up at Sony Pictures (the studio for which Uziel wrote 22 Jump Street), but it went into turnaround and Disney picked it up last year. Pink has never done this kind of film before, but he knows how to get laughs. But now we have to see what kind of cast comes together for this project. No matter who the adult in this situation is, they should get Wish I Was Here and Looper child star Pierce Gagnon to play the son. He's incredible.
