J.J. Abrams Shows Off an X-Wing in Latest 'Star Wars' UNICEF Video

Time to meet the new X-Wing! After the rumored plot leak yesterday, along with Kevin Smith's discussion of how real his set visit was, it's time to drop an actual reveal for Star Wars: Episode VII, being directed by J.J. Abrams as we speak. This time they've revealed the X-Wing from the new movies, along with a pilot in his typical orange regalia, in the background of another charity video with J.J. Abrams for UNICEF. This is kind of awesome, because it's one of those moments where everything is starting to feel like it' s coming into place. The ship looks great (old but not too old), plus it's real and actually exists and isn't just a CGI creation; I'm actually getting more and more excited the more we see. See the new video and X-Wing below.
Here's the next update with J.J. Abrams for "Star Wars: Force for Change", posted direct on YouTube:
Star Wars: Force for Change impressively raised over one million dollars within the first 24 hours of its launch—a record for Omaze, the fundraising platform. So far contributors from 119 countries around the world have backed Force for Change, in support of the United Nations Children’s Fund’s (UNICEF) Innovation Labs and programs. UNICEF's network of 14 Innovation Labs help create sustainable solutions to critical issues facing children around the world in the areas of nutrition, water, health, and education. The funds raised through Star Wars: Force for Change will impact the lives of children around the world. Fans can continue to pledge support and enter for a chance win up until July 25th. More Star Wars here.

Oh come on you can so tell that his pocket on the right hand side of his shirt pocket shadow is so CGI... :0p Great cause, hoping they reach way beyond the goals they where shooting for.

Not the best looking spaceship out there, but that doesn't ruin the hype.

It is an X wing. Looks like it's based off of designs by first trilogy artist Ralph McQuarrie where the engines split in half. They even confirmed that on twitter. You can see the split clearly as the camera tracks backwards.
