"Are you a rusher, or are you a dragger, or are you going to be on my fucking time?!" Since this latest trailer for the Sundance sensation Whiplash starring Miles Teller and J.K. Simmons comes from France, there's no red band to warn you about the content of the trailer. But just so you know, some of the anger that Simmons throws at Teller is pretty profane and NSFW. This trailer really shows off how intense this drama is as it follows kid (Teller) who joins one of the most prestigious jazz bands in the country, run by a ruthless and demanding orchestra teacher (Simmons). This film is brutal, thrilling and just incredible.

Here's the new international trailer for Damien Chazelle's Whiplash, from AD VITAM (via SlashFilm):

To compare or to catch up, you can also see the first US trailer for the Sundance selected film right here.

Whiplash is both written and directed by American filmmaker Damien Chazelle, (Guy and Madeline on a Park Bench). In the film, J.K. Simmons plays a brutal jazz orchestra teacher training a drummer (Miles Teller) trying desperately not to lose his mind as he struggles to become the top percussionist in one of the most illustrious jazz orchestras in the country. Jason Reitman helped produce the film along with Jason Blum's Blumhouse Productions. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and won both the Grand Jury Prize & Audience Award. Sony Pictures Classics releases the film in theaters starting October 10th.

Competitive "anything" could be turned into a thrilling movie. The whole industry is fucked up. But you cannot deny the talent the system produces.
