Nightcrawler Teaser - Jake Gyllenhaal

"Who am I? I'm a hard worker…" Not to be confused with the X-Men mutant, this film is actually about a guy in Los Angeles who ends up in the world of nighttime freelance crime journalism. The film is set to hit theaters in October, but this is the first footage we've seen after it was filmed last year. Nightcrawler stars Jake Gyllenhaal and is the feature directing debut of writer Dan Gilroy. The video was quietly uploaded to YouTube with the statement "my video resume", uploaded by Lou Bloom, the character that Gyllenhaal plays. He talks for nearly 60 seconds about how he is the perfect candidate for a job. Would you hire him?

Here's the first teaser trailer for Dan Gilroy's Nightcrawler, direct from YouTube (via The Film Stage):

The only brief synopsis currently available says: A young man stumbles upon the underground world of L.A. freelance crime journalism. Nightcrawler is written and directed by Dan Gilroy, a screenwriter on Freejack, Chasers, Two for the Money, The Fall, Real Steel and The Bourne Legacy makes his feature directing debut with this film. The cast includes Bill Paxton, Rene Russo, Ann Cusack, Eric Lange and Kevin Rahm. While no other film festival debuts have been arranged yet, Open Road Films will be releasing the film this fall. Dan Gilroy's Nightcrawler will open in limited theaters starting October 17th. Stay tuned.

What are you talking about? Jake put all the weight back on, and is currently shooting a movie where he plays a boxing champion, muscles and all. But you already knew it, did you?

He kinda looks like he could be the brother of Joaquin Phoenix's character in the Master.
