The Interview VMA Special

Just as we teased last week, James Franco and Seth Rogen unveiled a TV special on MTV that acts as a bit of viral promotion for The Interview, the comedy hitting theaters on Christmas Day this winter. In the film, TV personality Dave Skylark and his producer Aaron Rapoport (Rogen)discover that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is a fan of their show and they land an interview with him in an attempt to legitimize themselves as journalists. But then the CIA recruits them for a special operation to assassinate Kim Jong-un. Now you can watch the full MTV special footage introducing us to Skylark and Rapoport as they conduct a "very special VMA special" talking with Nicki Minaj, Iggy Azalea, & Jason Derulo. Watch below.

Here's the funny The Interview TV special clips the aired last weekend straight from MTV:

The Interview movie is written & directed by Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg (of This is the End previously, and the co-writers of Superbad, The Green Hornet, Pineapple Express), with a story the duo wrote with "The Daily Show" scribe Dan Sterling. In the comedy, James Franco plays the handsome talk show host of "Skylark Tonight" who finds himself and his producer (Rogen) involved a dangerous CIA organized plot to assassinate the leader of North Korea under the guise of a television interview. Columbia Pictures will be releasing Rogen & Goldberg's new comedy The Interview starting this holiday season on Christmas Day.

This is great! It will hold me over since they moved the movie back, and its a great way to introduce these characters. Gives us a glimpse before we walk into the theater, different from a trailer. Its his actual show... i just enjoyed this and really want to see this movie.

I really like James Franco as an actor...I just wish he'd stop with all the social media self-serving bullshit....I know, I know, it's 2014....but still....it's annoying.
