Though it sounds like Will Smith won't be returning for Independence Day 2, we've already heard that Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman were supposed to come back for the blockbuster sequel, straight from director Roland Emmerich. Now Goldblum himself has confirmed his return as David Levinson while making the rounds for The Grand Budapest Hotel. Goldblum told Huffington Post, "Yeah, they've talked to me about it and I've talked to them about it and they're excited and I'm anxious and eager to see -- I haven't read anything -- what they cook up." But what about Jurassic World? Will Ian Malcolm make a return?
Unfortunately, it sounds like Goldblum hasn't been called to appear in what will be the fourth installment of the dinosaur franchise. However, that's not surprising since this new sequel from director Colin Trevorrow seems to be more of a franchise reboot, and they seem to be leaving the core characters from the previous films behind. A cameo would have been nice, but it would only be fan service most likely. Otherwise, Nick Robinson, Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jake Johnson and Ty Simpkins are all on board the film which will begin shooting very soon. Stay tuned for updates on Jurassic World and Independence Day 2.

Last movies of Emmerich was not equal with his first Independence Day. I see some perfunctory works in his cgi usage. I think first Independence Day was cgi masterpiece in its era. I expect something worthy this time. Something shocking as first one was. Something revolutionary in Special Effect and great as Gravity or Avatar or Matrix and etc. I love Emmerich and hope this sequel succeed.
