Since Scarlett Johansson had a pretty meaty part in Captain America: The Winter Soldier as her S.H.I.E.L.D. agent character Natasha Romanoff (aka Black Wid0w), is there a chance that Jeremy Renner will get the chance to do the same with his character Clint Barton (aka Hawkeye) in Captain America 3? Well, it certainly sounds like Marvel has some kind of plan for the bow and arrow expert to pop up in the sequel. Speaking with Collider, Renner said, "There are rumblings of Captain America 3. I don't know what's going to happen there. I've got to find the time, man. I'm trying to stay home and I can't." Read on!

Renner is pretty busy in the coming years as he runs through his projects coming up:

Kill the Messenger is a great one for our company. It’s our first one we’ve produced and it’s setting a tone for what we want to do to the public and to other people that want to make movies. Another one is King of Heists that’s about the biggest bank robbery in American History. It’s very, very exciting.  It’s kind of like Heat in the early 1900’s. It’s really cool.  And then, there’s a Steve McQueen project (McQueen) that’s fascinating to me. I love that guy. He’s so the antithesis of himself constantly. It’s amazing.  And then Slingshot is a great rally racing movie. It’s again another one with themes of underdogs. But then, I still have Mission: Impossible 5 that I’m going to shoot in a week. And then, Bourne will happen next summer.”

Of course, if there are only rumblings of Captain America 3, then maybe Renner won't have a big role like the integral part that Johansson played in the second film. But that would be an easy way to expand the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent characters without giving them their own films. At the end of Winter Soldier, it sounded like Natasha had some stuff to figure out on her own, but Anthony Mackie's Falcon was eager to help Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) follow-up on this Bucky Barnes situation, so maybe Hawkeye can help too. We'll likely have to wait until The Avengers: Age of Ultron arrives before we start guessing what characters might be doing in Captain America 3. The sequel doesn't arrive until May 6th, 2016, so stay tuned for updates.

Fuck Hawkeye and his lame ass. I just dont understand why any superhero/god would need a guy with a bow and arrow for help Dude should be pounding the streets with the Agents of Shield and Black Widow.

I mean, I can't miss... I'm on a team with super-humans. And one god, in case you've forgotten. Even you... well, you climb walls really well... I gave up a lot for this life. I could have been happy with Mockingbir-- Bobbi. We could have had a good, simple life. But I wanted to play with the big boys. And if I miss, it means I'm just another dude with a bow. It means I've been fooling myself this whole time. And that's why I never miss. -- Hawkeye, Avenging Spider-Man Vol 1 4

His shot on Loki in Avengers earned his spot on that team for me.

I love in Earth's Mightiest Heroes when Hawkeye shoots an arrow with Ant Man holding onto it through a window from across the city. I can't seem to find the video for it though.

Hell yeah. It is high time Renner gets more time in the limelight in Marvel's films. His talent as an actor is undeniable. I hope Black Widow takes the back seat so Captain America and Hawkeye can kick some HYDRA ass.

He probably looked like an old man even when he was a baby.
