Josh Brolin Reuniting with Coen Brothers in 'Hail Caesar' Comedy

June 10, 2014
Following news that Josh Brolin would provide the voice of Thanos when the Marvel villain makes an appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy later this summer, the actor has another fantastic role lined up. Universal Pictures just announced their acquisition of Joel & Ethan Coen's next film Hail Caesar, the comedy that already has George Clooney on board. The press release also revealed that the film will see the Coen Brothers reuniting with their No Country for Old Men and True Grit star in the film, though Brolin's role remains undisclosed at this time. This will be the first time Brolin is taking on comedy with the duo.
For those just joining us, the film follows a man named Eddie Mannix (Clooney), who works for the movie studios of Hollywood as a fixer, someone who protects the reputations of their biggest stars from being tarnished. This was not an uncommon practice in the 50s, as studios were eager to keep the image of their most cherished talents clean and prime for being idolized and getting people into theaters. The Coens' are a rare breed of filmmaker who can move seamlessly in and out of compelling dramas and hilarious comedies, all with their own style. Stay tuned to see who else signs up for Hail Caesar.
