Justin Lin to Direct 'Times Square' Black List Script at Focus Features
Though director Justin Lin is already signed to direct the sequel to The Bourne Legacy starring Jeremy Renner, that doesn't mean he's not lining up other future projects. Deadline has word that Focus Features has just picked up Times Square, a script that appeared on The Black List in 2012, and Lin will be behind the camera for the film produced by Chernin Entertainment, Perfect Storm and Far Hills Pictures. The story follows a man whose loyalties are divided between his neighborhood boss who raised him and the grizzled ex-cop who swore to protect him when a secret from his past is unearthed. But that's not all. More below!
This whole story is set amidst the transformation of Times Square from New York’s seediest neighborhood to the commercialized downtown Disneyland it has become today. It's just one more project to keep Lin busy along with a narrative remake of the Sundance documentary The Battered Bastards of Baseball and also the family friendly adventure Toymageddon set up at Fox. We're definitely excited to see what Lin can do on the big screen outside of the Fast & Furious franchise that he helped reinvigorate so come back for new developments on all his projects.
