Justin Lin to Produce and May Direct 'Toymageddon' Adventure for Fox
Following the news that Justin Lin had picked up the rights to the Sundance documentary The Battered Bastards of Baseball from this year's festival, the Fast & Furious franchise director also has another project he's preparing to produce and maybe even direct. THR has word that 20th Century Fox is developing a project called Toymageddon that Lin will produce. In what sounds like it could be a massive blending of brands, the story is said to focus on a toy factory that "runs amok." As of now, Lin is only producing, but after a script is turned in (a writer still needs to be found), he just may consider directing the film as well.
Of course, Lin has quite the number of projects on his plate as it is. Universal tapped Lin to direct the sequel to The Bourne Legacy with Jeremy Renner in the lead, in addition to producing the aforementioned narrative adaptation of the Sundance selected documentary about a ragtag baseball team. Todd Field, who was a batboy on the makeshift ball club is being eyed to write and direct that, but it will still keep Lin busy. Still, this project that hails from Anonymous Content manager Tariq Merhab sounds like it could be a big action adventure project, and Lin is pretty skilled when it comes to things of this nature. Thoughts?
