Karen Gillan & Taissa Farmiga Join Ti West's 'In a Valley of Violence'
With a great turn in this spring's horror Oculus and a forthcoming villain role in Guardians of the Galaxy, it's a pretty good year for Karen Gillan. Deadline reports the Scottish actress is getting back together with Blumhouse Productions for a new project, however, even though House of the Devil and The Innkeepers director Ti West is behind the film, it's not a horror flick. In a Valley of Violence is a revenge western with Ethan Hawke and John Travolta in the lead, and now Gillan is joining the project along with "American Horror Story" lead Taissa Farmiga, and the two actresses will be playing sisters in the film. More below!
In the film, Farmiga and Gillan are running a hotel where a drifter (Hawke) seeks vengeance against the thugs responsible for the death of his best friend. If we had to guess, Travolta is likely the man leading the group of thugs, but he could just as easily be the deceased best friend. We'd rather see Travolta get into bad guy mode again since pretty much everything he's done recently has been disappointing. With West behind the camera, this sounds like a wholly intriguing western, especially with this assemble of talent. Is there a chance this could end up making a festival run? We'll see.

Gillan is getting a ton of work! Really surprised, frankly speaking.

I want to be more supportive to Karen Gillen but... I did _not_ like 'Oculus'.

I love Handsome Hawk. I thought Travolta retired. I was a huge fan of West until I saw The Sacrament.
