Keanu Reeves Reteams with 'John Wick' Producer to Make 'Replicas'

After blasting away countless bad guys in John Wick, it seems like Keanu Reeves is on the verge of a fun comeback. Now the actor is set to reteam with the action thriller's producer, Stephen Hamel (who is also working on Reeves' gestating sci-fi romance Passengers), for a sci-fi thriller called Replicas. The project is on sale at the American Film Market with Lotus Entertainment and Bonaventura Pictures (ran by Lorenzo di Bonaventura, who worked on The Matrix trilogy and Constantine) behind the film that will be directed by Tanya Wexler (Hysteria) with a script from Chad St. Johnson. So what's this new project about?
The film will see Reeves playing neuroscientist whose family is killed in a traffic accident so he uses his knowledge to try to bring them back, going up against the government, the police and the laws of science. There's not much specific information there as to how he tries to bring them back, but the title does offer some kind of hint. It doesn't sound like this will be the shoot’em up action that John Wick brought, but maybe it will still be a solid sci-fi thriller. The project is just now being sold at AFM though, so there's a chance we might not hear about this project for awhile.
I'm calling firsts! Also, I 'm gonna go out on the limb and say cloning.

I saw neuroscientist and immediately thought of Dr. Strange. This sounds....ok, not really something I'd go for but we'll have to wait and see.
