Keanu Reeves to Lead Tarsem Singh's Action Thriller 'The Panopticon'

Keanu Reeves

This year saw Keanu Reeves get some deserved attention for his ass-kicking role in John Wick, though the film should have gotten even more attention at the box office. The actor has a couple sci-fi projects lined up with the gestating space travel romance Passengers still kicking around, and there's also Replicas, which will reteam Reeves with John Wick producer Stephen Hamel. Now The Wrap reports Reeves is in talks to lead The Panopticon, an action thriller from director Tarsem Singh (The Fall, Mirror Mirror) and writer Craig Rosenberg (After the Sunset), and it sounds perfect for Reeves to tackle following John Wick.

The story follows a salesman (Reeves) who receives a pre-recorded message from himself that tells him the world is about to end and only he can save it. It's a race against time to piece a puzzle together in order to save mankind. If the film packs the same kind of punch that John Wick did this year, then we could be in for a bit of a comeback for Reeves, who hadn't really delivered anything worth writing home about for awhile until this year's gun-toting action thriller came along. Reeves also has the Eli Roth thriller Knock Knock in the can, so we're looking forward to hearing more about that soon.

Good to see Keanu getting back into acting, I've always been a fan of him and I heard John Wick was amazing, looking forward to watching that. This storyline sounds pretty interesting, can't wait to hear more about it.

' Reeves, who hadn't really delivered anything worth writing home about for awhile' - since Man of Tai Chi, you mean. I hope.

' which will reteam Reeves with John Wick producer Stephen Hamel.' - well, considering that Reeves and Hamel own together Company Films which was one of the producing companies of John Wick, it wouldn't be too surprising- that they 'reteam' again...
