Legendary & Universal Plan Mystery Tentpole for November of 2016

Studios are getting more and more desperate when it comes to scoping out the perfect release date for their properties. Some studios have projects announced in 2017 and 2018, even if they don't have a completed script or a director and cast attached. That's just the game of show business now, for better or worse (usually the latter). The latest to scope out a release date far in advanced is Legendary Pictures and their new studio digs, Universal Pictures. THR has word that they've picked November 4th, 2016 for some sort of secret tentpole that Universal will co-finance with Legendary Pictures. Do you know what it may be?

Well, you probably don't. THR says the project is currently known as "Untitled 2016 Event Project," and they also add that the project is "new and not a sequel or remake, though it may be based on underlying intellectual property." The news comes after Warner Bros. announced a November 2016 release date for their Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the first in a proposed trilogy. As of now, our best guess would be Brilliance, the adaptation of the sci-fi novel that has Will Smith attached and just added Noomi Rapace. That would fit the bill. We'll keep our ear to the ground for more details.

Hearing it's a film adaptation for Mass Effect.

Unless they do FemShep, don't want. Already seen a Mass Effect movie with Sheploo. It was called Buck Rogers. But only after they got sick of calling it Flash Gordon.

King Kong Vs Godzilla

They should do Pacific Rim 2 and add Godzilla to that Universe. Maybe a Godzilla Monster or two could make things interesting for the Jaegers. Plus I heard Del Toro wanted to make Organic Jaegers out of dead Kaiju for the sequel... this could lead to Mecha-Godzilla. But that's my opinion, I would personally love it if it turns out to be like that,
