Dracula Untold

"I see the devil inside him!" Following the first trailer for the horror action adventure Dracula Untold not too long ago, a new trailer from Japan has surfaced, showing a bit more of the desperate transformation Luke Evans makes in order to save his family and people from a tyrannical ruler. There's a lot of the same beats from the first trailer here, but this time they don't shove the fact that this is Dracula down your throat until the title appears at the end (and it has a different title too). Frankly, I'm still not completely sold on this flick, and I have a hunch that it's not going to do very well at the box office next month. Watch below!

Here's the latest UK trailer for Gary Shore's Dracula Untold (found via HeyUGuys):

Dracula Untold is directed by newcomer Gary Shore, making his feature debut after a 2005 horror short film titled The Draft. The story follows real-life historical figure Prince Vlad of Transylvania, known as the inspiration for Dracula, as his wife and child find themselves in danger from a despicable sultan. He risks his very soul to save them. Evans explained in our interview: "We're back in the 1400's when you meet this man who was the king of his land who had reigned peacefully for 10 years… It's sort of an origin story, but it's really the story of Vlad the Impaler and what he does and the things that happen to him in his life that show you how Dracula is born." Dracula Untold arrives in US theaters starting on October 17th this year.

Luke Evans better start picking some better roles if he doesnt want his career to fizzle

Jon Odishaw on Sep 2, 2014

Too late I think.

Brian Sleider on Sep 2, 2014

No way! This seems like a badass adaptation of Vlad the Impaler's story and Luke looks like hes fitting the part perfectly. I think hes doing fine. Plus hes still making a lot of money from the last two remaining Hobbits.

Rock n Rollllll on Sep 2, 2014

Oh I know hes doing fine. I'm thinking long term.

Jon Odishaw on Sep 2, 2014

Well the guy can really act, so i think he'll always have someone waiting to throw a script at him. Acting's not always about prioritizing your bank account. I think he chooses to do what he's interested in.

Rock n Rollllll on Sep 2, 2014

I hope that's the case because I like him

Jon Odishaw on Sep 2, 2014

Google for vlad tepes and than you will know this is Disney movie of vlad tepes! origin story my ass!

Avi on Sep 2, 2014

It's an origin story of Dracula, as in, the title character of Bram Stoker's Novel, which was based only loosely on the actual Vlad the Impaler. You say you've done your research on the guy, but you don't seem to get that this is Bram Stoker's Dracula, not Vlad Tepes.

WitchCat on Oct 15, 2014

He needs a TV vehicle. I think he could rock a role in the third series of TRUE DETECTIVE.

I just got paid --------------------------------------------------------

Rock n Rollllll on Sep 2, 2014

I'm looking foward to it too!

Bill on Sep 2, 2014

I thought it was garbage at first but I am slowly coming around to thinking it might be fun. I still hesitate to call it good though.

DAVIDPD on Sep 2, 2014

wtf!!! haha this is the real story of vlad tepes??? No impaled türkisch soldiers by the thousands on a stake, no slaughtering of opponents of his own country, no teaching at young age of torturing people when in captivity in Türkey, not using thousands of slaves to build his castle, no celebration of other nations when he died on the battlefield because he was pure evil (and says alot for that time)? Okay when you say it's a origin story than be true of the facts and not sell as shit. Vlad tepes was the most evil person ever lived!

Avi on Sep 2, 2014

How are you able to claim all that with just a trailer? I think we all know its not going to hit the nail on the head entirely but its still a cool adaptation.

Rock n Rollllll on Sep 2, 2014

I have no Problem with cool adaptations onley as if they present it as how it happend. I read everything on vlad tepes for years and human evil in common in history and realy there are no human vampires. Realy there are aren't vampires onley women who suck you dry of money!

Avi on Sep 2, 2014

Yeah, this a movie, Avi... // And I think Adolf/Mao/Stalin all come in above Vlad.

DAVIDPD on Sep 2, 2014

sorry david but realy not! Vlad tepes enjoyed killing and torturing. At a young age he enjoyed putting frogs, birds, cats on a stake, just to see what's the best method. Even for his time without media he had a name to be a lunatic. The others you Name think it was necessary but didn't enjoy it. Realy he was the biggest Bastard ever...

Avi on Sep 2, 2014

I suppose you have a point there Avi.

DAVIDPD on Sep 2, 2014

thanks! I studied evil for years and you find onley a handfull of people like vlad tepes. A few serial Killers, but never a statesmen like vlad...

Avi on Sep 2, 2014

although I appreciate your effort to study things and historical (evil) figures you're stating something very pointless. Not that I am fond of Stalin, Hitler or Mao Zedong, but those guys had a hundreds of guys like Vlad Tepes. And, as for Tepes, accounts of his deeds are really diverse and all of them are not pointing to the fact that he was so cruel (which does not mean the opposite, he was 'impaler' for a reason) but also, for some, he was just a hero trying to fight onslaught of Turks... And yes, he learned most of his cruelties from Turks...

The Japanese trailers are so much more epic.

DAVIDPD on Sep 2, 2014

SkyNet300 on Sep 3, 2014

Rock n Rollllll on Sep 3, 2014
