COMIC-CON 2014
'Mockingjay' Trailer Gets a Product Placement Launch at Comic-Con

While Lionsgate might not be bringing a panel to Comic-Con for this fall's release of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part I, that doesn't mean the film won't have a presence at the convention in San Diego. The studio just announced a big trailer launch from Samsung where fans can check out the trailer on the company's new Galaxy Tab S before it's release online to everyone else. Unknown cast members will be on hand to debut the trailer on Friday, July 25th at 12:00pm PT. Now we're not sure how long the trailer will be exclusively available to Samsung consumers, but we'll post right away as soon as it's available for everyone.
Many fans are upset at this decision, saying that it takes away from the experience of enjoying the trailer together as fans all over the world, and segments it purely for commercial purposes. Here are a few tweets:
We've been robbed of that feeling when everyone watches it at once. Everyone will be seeing it at different times. That's sad to me.

BREAKING: LGF’s strategy is to put fans on a pedestal with teasers then tell them to f- off with full trailer #Mockingjay

Disappointment when things don’t go according to plan + offer of huge $$$$ = crap like this #Mockingjay

For anyone who might not be in San Diego during Comic-Con weekend, beginning Saturday, July 26h, fans can visit participating Samsung Experience Shops in Best Buy stores over the weekend to preview the trailer, and they'll also get a free ticket to see The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part I whiles supplies last. This product placement launch of the trailer is pretty annoying, but at least we know the trailer for the first half of this two-part finale is coming soon. Up until now, President Snow's viral videos addressing the revolution and then being interrupted by it have been spectacular. We hope there's more to come. Cool?

it's more to do with the fact that people outside the US won't get to see the trailer until the following week, and that no doubt there will be bootlegs of it filmed at Best Buy stores leaked... while the previous year, and with the previous two teasers, it was a day/date/time worldwide debut.

LOL. The people who are making this a big deal are people making it into a big deal.
