April is inching closer, which means Captain America: The Winter Soldier isn't too far away. We've already seen one TV spot with Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) getting pretty serious as he prepares to face the title villain played by Sebastian Stan, and now a new spot has shown up, and it might have a big spoiler. We don't want to write about it here just in case it turns out to be true, but there's a certain line of dialogue spoken by Cap himself that makes it sounds like a well-known Marvel character isn't going to survive this superhero sequel. Is this misdirection? We'll have to find out on the big screen in April. Watch the TV spot!
Here's the new TV spot for Captain America: The Winter Soldier from Marvel:
Captain America: The Winter Soldier is directed by Anthony & Joe Russo ("Community" and "Arrested Development") with a script from Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely (Captain America: The First Avenger, Thor: The Dark World). Chris Evans reprises his role as Captain America, still struggling to adjust to present day life, when a powerful new enemy emerges. Scarlett Johansson also returns in the film as S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Natasha Romanoff along with Anthony Mackie, Emily VanCamp, Robert Redford, Frank Grillo and Sebastian Stan. Disney will release the Marvel sequel in theaters next spring starting April 4th.

Seeing as he's listed as part of the cast for Age of Ultron, I seriously doubt it

That line could mean just about anything. Plus, there is a whole Marvel TV right now starring a character that "died". Anything is possible.

In the comics Fury "dies" about a dozen times only to later reveal that he's still alive and spying. He's a slippery bastard that one.

nah - I don't see Fury dying... he's one of the threads that connects the MCU. I see him making it, barely, with Cap or Widow saying it'll be a long road to recovery for Fury... But not killing him.

I'm sure Fury will go off the grid (fake his death) and return just in time for Avengers 2. Maybe Steve Rogers, Tony Stark, or Maria Hill will take the reigns of SHIELD as they've done in the comics. Fury disappearing is like Jean Grey dying. Comic book fans have come to expect it 🙂 My biggest hope for this movie is for fans to want to check out Ed Brubaker's historic 8 year run on the title.
