Briefly: A new Pee-Wee Herman movie from producer Judd Apatow has been in the works for over four years now. The project first emerged in 2010, and it's been developing ever since, with Paul Reubens and Apatow both offering vague updates that it's still on the way. Well, now it looks like that may be truer than it's ever been. The Wrap reports the project is currently in talks to be set up at Netflix instead of Universal Pictures, though no official deal is in place. Reportedly, production is supposed to begin as early as February with the script coming from Reubens and Paul Rust, but no details on a director or the story have been revealed. Here's hoping we get solid details sooner than later. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.

I really love Pee Wee. He has cracked me up ever since I was a small child....however, this whole "return" of Pee Wee leaves me with a feeling of dread. Paul Ruebens is way old, and the charm of Pee Wee was that he was a child trapped in a (wierd) man's body. Now he's just an old guy with probably lots of makeup on, which scares me....

I soooo agree with you on this. I can't see there being such a high demand for this. It won't be nostalgic for me, and showing my children old clips of Pee Wee's playhouse left them not exactly excited either.
