Nicholas Winding Refn Reveals Next Film is 'I Walk with the Dead'

Following Only God Forgives, we've been waiting to see what Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn would take on as his next film. The filmmaker was just revealed to be involved with a gestating horror film calling The Bringing, but it doesn't sound like that will be his next film. Instead, Refn announced on Twitter the following, "The silence has been broken my next film will be I Walk with the Dead shooting in LA." Details are scarce on the film, but at one time, it was set to have Carey Mulligan reunite with the director, and Refn said it was "just going to have a lot of sex in it.” But that was back in 2011, so is she still involved?
We're not sure. Really the only thing we know about the film is the title, Refn is shooting it next this summer, and it's supposed to be set in Miami. As of 2011, it was already set to be produced and funded by Wild Bunch and Gaumont, who were also behind Only God Forgives. With production beginning this summer, we'll likely hear more about the project very soon. In the meantime, make sure you watch that video of him introducing Texas Chainsaw Massacre at Cannes last month, and stay tuned for any further updates about Refn's future filmmaking slate.
Refn's boldness is always transparent in his films. I can't wait for this one.
