Home Alone

We sincerely hope that none of our readers have to fight off a pair of burglars with booby traps at their house tonight, but just in case you do, there's some things you may not know about the John Hughes scripted, Chris Columbus directed holiday favorite Home Alone. It's hard to come up with obscure, interesting facts about movies that have been around for 24 years, so that's why CineFix has put together a list of 9 Things You (Probably) Didn't Know About Home Alone. There's interesting tidbits about the stunt guy who stood in for Macaulay Culkin and how long John Candy worked on the movie. Watch!

Here's the perfectly timed 9 Things You (Probably) Didn't Know About Home Alone (via CineFix):

How about them apples? There's a couple of facts that I already knew, like Buzz's girlfriend (woof) being played by a boy in drag, but there's some other stuff that I had no idea about. In fact, there's even some throwaway tidbits that don't count as one of the nine things in this video that are kind of mind-blowing today. For example, the year that Home Alone was released in theaters it was #1 at the box office for 12 weeks. That's essentially unheard of nowadays. That's mostly because so many more movies hit theaters now than did back in 1990, but that's an incredible feat for a holiday comedy without many big stars.
