Patrick Wilson Picks Up a Role in Edgar Wright & Marvel's 'Ant-Man'

Though his starring role in Stretch has been indefinitely shelved, Patrick Wilson hasn't exactly hit a lull in his career. The actor has found success in horror with The Conjuring and Insidious (both with sequels) and now the actor is heading into the Marvel universe. The Wrap has word that Wilson is in talks for an undisclosed role in Ant-Man, the Phase Three film in Marvel's ever-expanding cinematic universe to be directed by Edgar Wright. The trade predicts that Wilson might be up for another major supporting actor to join Michael Pena (whose role is said to be rather large), but it's not clear if he'll be a good guy or a bad guy.
In addition, Evangeline Lily hasn't closed a deal to take the female lead just yet, mostly because the contact would include sequel options, and some details still need to be worked out. Pena isn't officially on board yet either, but we're pretty sure both stars will end up involved in the end. As for Wilson, he's an interesting addition to the cast, mostly because some people had pegged him as a good option to play a younger Hank Pym, the role that Michael Douglas will have as the original Ant-Man, before Paul Rudd takes over as Scott Lang. Is there a chance Wilson could play a Marvel character that would show up elsewhere in the universe?

I seriously hate Patrick Wilson. His acting was atrocious in Insidious and The Conjuring. This Ant-Man movie is shaping up to be crap and I don't know if Wright can save it. It's going to bomb anyway it's coming out the same year of Avengers 2. Marvel made the biggest mistake ever.

Woah Damon those are some harsh words. I would be inclined to agree that he can be a little lackluster in the acting department. I think for the most part Wilson has survivied as long as he has on the virtues of his appearance. Some of his supporting roles have been fun, like in YOUNG ADULT.

Ignore King, he's just a troll on this site. I've tried several times to have a conversation with him and it always devolves in ad hominem attacks. He pretty much craps on every article written here.

Oh yeah, so just because I have differing opinions than you instantly makes me a troll, how mature. If you can't take opinionated thoughts as mine why are you even here to debate? Get over it and stop acting sad. It's honestly people like you that think the world evolves around your own words and we should also listen to what you have to say. Get into the fact we all have words to say and we all have the god damned ability of speech and the ability to speak our own mind. How about we just ignore you because you called me a troll? Do you see me telling other people to ignore people on here, no I don't at all. Why? Because it's stupid childish act like fighting in a sandpit. You want to know how you play ball around here, you play it right and your cards. Acting like someone else and accusing someone of being someone isn't going to help your own cause at all and for the sake of everyone else.
