Later this year we'll see Prometheus star Noomi Rapace sharing the screen with Tom Hardy twice in The Drop and Child 44. Now she's looking to team up with an even bigger star as Deadline reports the Swedish actress is set to star in Brilliance, an adaptation of Marcus Sakey's novel of the same name scripted by Jurassic Park writer David Koepp. Earlier this year we learned that Will Smith was in early talks to lead the film about a federal agent with some kind of superhuman ability that has made him skilled at capturing terrorist. This time he's after another of his own kind who is hellbent on starting a civil war. More below!
It's not clear if Rapace would take the antagonist role of the terrorist, or if she's another federal agent working with Smith. But there's a whole group of these superpowered humans, called "brilliants," so it seems just as likely that Rapace could have a power of her own. Anyway, Julius Onah (God's Particle) is slated to direct the film for Legendary Pictures as one of the projects under their new deal at Universal Pictures. If the cast is coming together, it sounds like Smith is sticking with this project, so we should hear more about this one very soon. Sound good?

Smith is not the A-lister he once was. He can barely open a movie these days. And hooking up with M. Knight was a career killer. I like Rapace. I just hope they don't let Lindelof anywhere near Prometheus II.

Yeah, dude's been in three movies over the past six years. MIB 3 was okay and performed fairly well at the box office, but that could be attributed to it being a franchise movie, not necessarily that Smith was in the lead. After Earth was shit and bombed at the box office, and so did Winter's Tale, though he wasn't a lead actor in that one.

nobody's complaining much about After Earth ? and it gets played on Cable all the time now . I think in YOUR neighborhod , he's not a star . But we all live in different societies . He might be more hurt by Jada Pinkett breaking up with him ; but THAT would be only in the Hollywood society ...he was abigger star 10-20 years ago , becaus he HAD to be . Now , he's running a production studio , prob pitching a movie more than a role for him , and bringing his family into the business ... all he prob has time for is a selfie at an awards show ....
