Starry Eyes

The winners of the SXSW film festival have already been announced, and while only two films took home the top honors for narrative features and documentary features, the unique festival does dole out some other interesting awards. One such awards goes to Excellence in Poster Design, and that went to one of the Midnight films, Starry Eyes. We have the awesome poster designed by Jay Shaw below, but we also have a quick and intense teaser trailer for the film. It's somewhat NSFW because of some flashes of bloodiness in this story of an aspiring actress (Alex Essoe) who gets caught up in a strange and terrifying production.

Here's the quick teaser trailer for Dennis Widmyer & Kevin Kolsch's Starry Eyes from Vimeo:

Starry Eyes

Determined to make it as an actress in Hollywood, Sarah Walker spends her days working a dead-end job, going on countless casting calls in hopes of catching her big break. After a series of strange auditions, Sarah lands the leading role in a new film from a mysterious production company. But with this opportunity comes bizarre ramifications that will transform her both mentally and physically into something beautiful and all together terrifying. Dennis Widmyer & Kevin Kolsch wrote and directed Starry Eyes which premiered in the Midnight section at SXSW, but doesn't currently have an official release date. Interested?

Looks like something Cronenberg would have done in the late70's or early 80's....and that's a GOOD thing.
