Ricky Gervais' Feature Film Spin-Off of 'The Office' Shooting in 2015

Nearly a year ago, word came from comedian Ricky Gervais that he was hoping to bring back "The Office" character David Brent for a feature film. At the time he was working on a series of videos on YouTube called Learn Guitar with David Brent, and Gervais had hoped they would be the basis for a movie about Brent trying to make it in the music industry. Now that idea is becoming a reality as BBC Films (via Digital Spy) has announced Life on the Road, will start shooting in 2015 with Gervais back as the former Wernham Hogg boss from the beloved UK comedy series that inspired the hit US version on NBC with Steve Carell.
Here's a short film featuring The Return of David Brent which got the feature film rolling:
The press release says, "We find out what Brent is doing now and what's happened in the last 15 years since his redundancy from his beloved Wernham Hogg. He's a sales rep now, selling cleaning products up and down the country, but has never really given up on his dream of being a rock star." The film will have the same mockumentary format as the show as it follows Brent on a self-funded tour across the United Kingdom, and he thinks it'll be just like when Martin Scorsese followed The Rolling Stones around. This already sounds like a hilariously cringeworthy affair.
The question is whether or not any of the other characters from the beloved British series will pop up in this feature film spin-off. Gervais has never been one to force things unless it feels natural and genuine, so if Martin Freeman or anyone else pop up from the original show, it would have to be totally organic. After all, this project only came about because Gervais couldn't stop thinking about where someone like Brent would end up. We're certainly interested to see what Gervais has cooked up for this new comedy, and we'll let you know when more information becomes available. Sound good?

Well i wouldnt think so, he waited till the American Office ended then brought his character back with that 10 min video above. Now he gets his own film.... he is just revisiting a character that many people loved.
