Guardians of the Galaxy

If you haven't checked out Blurppy's awesome artwork from their Poster Posse tribute to Guardians of the Galaxy, you're missing out. And now we get another dose of the ragtag team of heroes formed by Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista and the voices of Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel. A new TV spot for the Marvel film has just debuted, and it shows off some great new footage from the film, including Rocket Raccoon wielding a big ass gun. It's a great glimpse at the team-up of a thief, two thugs, an assassin and a maniac. Star-Lord even says the title in the trailer again if you like that sort of thing. Watch!

Here's the new TV spot for James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy from Marvel:

Guardians of the Galaxy is directed by James Gunn (Slither, Super). Brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits — Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand. The Marvel Studios film arrives in theaters August 1st, 2014.

Since the first time I saw the trailer I thought it reminded me of something. I finally remembered what: Jack: You know what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like this? Thunder: Who? Jack: Jack Burton. *Me*!

I can see the Jack Burton thing here. He's definitely a good template for the smartass accidental-hero type.

HALLELUJAH! Kurt Russell would have been a perfect Starlord had this been made a few years prior. He would have been an incredible Rocket Raccoon also.

Have ya paid your dues, Jack?

Yuss! This is going to be good, even if it's terrible I don't care, it'll still be good

I can't tell if this is going to be amazing or edit really edit bad. I'm in either way, so I'll get to find out first hand!

EmagSamurai on Jun 5, 2014

........ Speed Racer wasn't bad.

Not sure if you're serious or not, but I shouldn't have used another movie as an example. That was just the first one that came to mind that I didn't care for. Edited just in case.

Speed Racer was like the animation, I thought it was great. I know I'm in a minority with that one. 🙂

Carpola on Jun 5, 2014

I am with you, Carpola. Speedracer was exactly what the previews and its source material promised. I have a feeling that Guardians is following that same route. I will most likely love it because I am a big fan of James Gunn.
