Russell Crowe's 'The Water Diviner' Set for US Release in April 2015
Some news for fans of Russell Crowe, as the actor's directorial debut has finally secured US distribution from Warner Bros. The movie studio has announced (via Crowe himself) that they will be releasing The Water Diviner, directed by and starring Oscar winner Russell Crowe, in April of 2015 after its initial debut in Australia later this year. The film tells the story of an Australian man who travels to Turkey after the Battle of Gallipoli to try and locate his three missing sons. We've already featured one official trailer as well as an early featurette for this film, but expect to see more marketing closer to release. Curious to see it.
Here's the tweet from Russell Crowe announcing the release date, plus a small promo image for the movie:

The Water Diviner is directed by Russell Crowe (star of Gladiator, A Beautiful Mind, The Insider), making his directorial debut from a screenplay by Australian television writing duo Andrew Knight and Andrew Anastasios. The period drama follows an Australian patriarch (Crowe) who journeys to Turkey in order to find his two sons who went missing during the Battle of Gallipoli in 1919. This also stars Olga Kurylenko, Jai Courtney, Yilmaz Erdogan, Cem Yilmaz, Ryan Corr & Jacqueline McKenzie. It's currently slated for release in Australia on December 26th late this year, and will then hit US theaters starting April 24th next spring.
Kurylenko is a racial chameleon. Beautiful. // This looks paint-by-numbers excellent.
