See OmniCorp's 2027 CES Keynote Presentation 'RoboCop' Viral Video
"No one delivered on the promise of global security like OmniCorp." Welcome to 2027. Sony has launched a viral video for their upcoming RoboCop movie focusing on introducing the new human element of their security/defense line of robotic products. The short viral video is a direct rip-off of the Weyland TED Talk for Prometheus, even going so far as to introduce their "android" product in a keynote presentation at CES in 2027. Alas, the speaker in this is much less charismatic and the visuals are pretty poor, so I have to admit I'm not impressed at all. Which is just par for the course with this movie. I'm not sure any viral like this will make me any more interested in the movie, but at least they're trying to do some cool sci-fi marketing for it.
Here's the viral video Omnicorp 2027 CES Keynote Presentation posted by Sony directly to YouTube:
"It's not what man can create, it's what man can become." That's one of the only great quotes in this video, and it's from OmniCorp's Raymond Sellars, played by Michael Keaton, who should've been the speaker in this. For updates on OmniCorp and its products, visit OmniCorp.com (or watch the latest RoboCop trailer).
When Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) – a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit – is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp sees their chance for a part-man, part-robot police officer. OmniCorp envisions a RoboCop in every city and even more billions for their shareholders, but they never counted on one thing: there is still a man inside the machine pursuing justice. Gary Oldman and Michael Keaton also star in RoboCop from director Jose Padilha and writer James Vanderbilt (The Amazing Spider-Man). Sony Pictures sends RoboCop to theaters on February 7th, 2014.
In the original Robocop the company was Omni Consumer Products. The change to Omnicorp wouldn't bother me much normally (even though it's pointless), but Omnicorp is the name of the company on the Life and Times of Tim which is hilarious.

This is NOT a viral video, by definition. A viral video spreads by it's own accord without explanation. This is marketing schlock.

Is that Sean Parker giving keynote? But seriously, what a sad attempt to be viral.

This is lame. It's a dude talking while clips from Robocop are shown in the background....
