If you're a cinephile who loves original artwork, you might already be familiar with the work of Joey Spiotto, known for his illustrated faux album covers paying tribute to movies like Wayne's World, Ghostbusters and more. But his latest work takes a cue from the classic children's book series known as the Little Golden Books and has been given a full exhibition called Storytime: A Little Gallery Show at Gallery 1988 East in Los Angeles. The show opens up on August 1st and features book covers honoring films like the timely Guardians of the Galaxy and other faves like Back to the Future and Pulp Fiction.
Here's some of Joey Spiotto's movie pieces from Storytime: A Little Gallery Show (via SlashFilm):
Spiotto has also done some pieces for big TV shows like "Breaking Bad" and "Game of Thrones" and you can see those at SlashFilm. Otherwise, Storytime: A Little Gallery Show opens from 7-10pm on August 1st at Gallery 1988 East, located at 7021 Melrose Ave. in Los Angeles. The gallery will be open through August 16th and if you want these pieces on your wall, prints will go on sale August 2nd at Gallery 1988's website.
