Seth Rogen & Joseph Gordon-Levitt Get Back Together for Christmas
After teaming for the spectacular dramatic comedy 50/50, co-stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogen are reuniting for another film with writer and director Jonathan Levine. THR has word that an untitled Christmas comedy has just been picked up by Sony Pictures after beating out several studios for the script which Levine wrote and is set to direct. Gordon-Levitt and Rogen will play two of three childhood best friends who reunite in New York City for their yearly tradition of going out for some fun on Christmas Eve. The third friend in the crew has yet to be cast, but there are plenty of great options to fill the key role.
The project is an even bigger reunion since producers Joe Drake and Nathan Kahane, who produced and financed 50/50 by way of Mandate Pictures, now called Good Universe, are back on board as well. Rogen and collaborator Evan Goldberg are also producing through their Point Grey Pictures banner, so it would be cool if one of the many stars from This is The End popped up to fill the third role. Jonah Hill is probably too busy, but there's also Jason Segel, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Danny McBride or several others who could step up. Of course, we're not sure about the plot or the characters yet, so we're not sure who's the best fit.
I can't think of one Christmas movie that doesn't involve New York City.

A Christmas Story? Gremlins? It's a Wonderful Life? The Santa Clause? A Christmas Carol? Die Hard? White Christmas? The list goes on...
