While director Edgar Wright is busy preparing projects like his original Baby Driver and an adaptation of Grasshopper Jungle, his collaborator Simon Pegg has Mission: Impossible 5 on his plate and Star Trek 3 with a new director after that. But that doesn't mean the two won't get back together for another film. In fact, Wright and Pegg are hoping to make another three films over the next decade. First, Pegg spoke with BBC 6 Music (via Digital Spy) and confirmed development of a new original film that he's working on with Wright, “Edgar and I were having a conversation the other day about it, and it has a title and everything. We’re kind of into a creative cycle now.” But how soon might it come together? More below!
Pegg couldn't give us an idea of when the film will come together, but he was supremely confident that it wouldn't get lost in the shuffle saying, "We’ve all got different things [going] on and we know we have to get those things done. The coming-together thing is without question on the table and will happen when we can do it.” He also explained that this next film won't have related ideas and whatnot like the Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy and "it will just be something else." However, he does say, "We made three films in ten years and hopefully in the next decade we’ll make another three." So it might be a few years before we see Wright and Pegg get back together, likely with Nick Frost, but at least we know it'll definitely happen.
