'SpongeBob SquarePants 2' Delivers an Amusing Holiday Greeting

Though SpongeBob SquarePants and his trusty friend Patrick won't hit theaters until February next year, that's not stopping the duo from celebrating Christmas and promoting their forthcoming adventure SpongeBob SquarePants: Sponge Out of Water. The big screen sequel takes our characters from the cartoon world underwater to the real world where they must track down the thief who stole the recipe for the Krabby Patty. In the real world, they get a whole new look and even get superpowers and become human-sized. But in this holiday greeting, they're still tiny and just enjoying the holidays. Watch below!

The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water is directed by Paul Tibbit (a writer and producer of the "SpongeBob SquarePants" animated series) and written by Kung Fu Panda 2 writers Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger. In the film, SpongeBob SquarePants, the world's favorite sea dwelling invertebrate, comes ashore to our world for his most super-heroic adventure yet. Tom Kenny will reprise his voice role as the titular character, and is joined by Antonio Banderas, Clancy Brown, Rodger Bumpass and many more. Paramount Pictures will release the sequel in 3D in theaters everywhere next year on February 6th, 2015.
