LEGO Star Wars

When almost the entire cast of Star Wars: Episode VII was announced this past spring, a photo from the table read accompanied the announcement, showing director J.J. Abrams sitting with returning cast members Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels and Peter Mayhew, not to mention the new stars including John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Daisy Ridley, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson and Adam Driver. Now the photo has been given a fun makeover with LEGO pieces, and there have been some modifications, such as some of the returning cast members being represented by the LEGO version of their Star Wars character and Andy Serkis holding a tiny Ring of Power. Look below!

Here's the LEGO version of the Star Wars: Episode VII table read photo from LEGO:

Star Wars: Episode VII

Star Wars: Episode VII is directed by J.J. Abrams from a script he co-wrote with Lawrence Kasdan. The film doesn't have an official title yet, but it takes place 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi, following a new trio of heroes, along with the return of Han Solo (Harrison Ford), Luke Sywalker (Mark Hamill) and Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher). Rumors are swirling about the story, but the plot and nearly everything else is being kept under tight wraps. The film is expected to hit theaters on December 18th, 2015, but there are rumors that Harrison Ford's recent injury could push the film back to 2016. Stay tuned.

Mark Hamil is on the left in the original picture, in a check shirt sat in the darker chair next to Andy Serkis. In the lego equivalent he's the ROTJ Luke Minifig in the same position 🙂

What's or whom is Andy Serkis mo-capping for the story? Yeah I see Mark - he in pretty good shape- who's the person to the left of JJ If Mr. Ford is o. His left?

Lawrence Kasdan is the chap immediately to JJ Abrahms' right - co-writer of Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. As for Serkis, I've not read one way or the other that he's mo-capping anyone - guess we'll all find out in time 🙂

This is considered film news? No offense, but I think Firstshowing dilutes it's otherwise excellent film industry news stream a little by posting clever Lego promotions - as news. Same goes for all the posts with "reimagined film posters" and other 3rd Party fan-made stuff that really has nothing to do with the original films and which are best left on the net for people to find them if they want. Sorry, just my opinion.

I AM F***ING SICK TO DEATH OF THE WORLD'S OBSESSION WITH LEGO. ...Whoa. That's honestly the only time I have posted in caps. Apologies...

Was this even Lego blocks or was it all computer generated? Looks like CG to me.

Yeah, that's definitely CG. Look how some of their feet are curved, or the JJ is crossing his legs. Real Legos can't do that. Which makes this the least impressive thing ever.

Pretty cool. I didn't realize that was Peter Mayhew or Anthony Daniels til I saw Chewy and 3PO in the Lego setup.. Cool!!
