T-1000 Back in Teaser for Tomorrow's 'Terminator: Genisys' Trailer

Following yesterday's motion poster for Terminator: Genisys, a teaser for tomorrow's first trailer for the franchise reboot has arrived. Now we normally hate teasers for trailers, but since this one shows some surprising stuff, we figured it was worth tossing up for discussion before the full trailer arrives tomorrow. Right off the bat, you'll see the return of the liquid metal T-1000 (we presume Robert Patrick came back for this?), and a much better shot of Arnold Schwarzenegger as the aged T-800 model Terminator. And finally, for the first time, we get a glimpse at the time machine that sends them back to the past. None of the new cast members like Jason Clarke pop up yet though, so it's purely a nostalgia trip for now. Watch!
Here's the teaser for tomorrow's Terminator: Genisys trailer from Paramount Pictures:
Terminator: Genisys is directed by Alan Taylor ("Game of Thrones," Thor: The Dark World) and written by Laeta Kalogridis (Avatar, Shutter Island) and Patrick Lussier (Drive Angry). Emilia Clarke, Jason Clarke, Jai Courtney, J.K. Simmons, Byung-hun Lee and Matt Smith all star in the film that takes a completely different approach to the Terminator timeline, finding Sarah Connor orphaned and being raised and trained by an aging T-800 Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger) as Kyle Reese (Courtney) is sent back in time from the future again on a new mission. Paramount Pictures releases the film next summer on July 1st, 2015.

It's a CGI blob...how can anyone tell? Maybe in the movie, he's played by Byun-hun Lee, but to me he looks like a silver blob person.

There were rumors that he was playing a T-1000 in this, and if you look at the face closely, it certainly looks like him. But for some reason I can also see Robert Patrick in that face. Maybe just because I'm so used to see his face in that liquid metal form.

The "I'll be back" line is sooo old and cheesy.....kinda like Arnie himself. I wish they'd stop using it.

I'm very bitter about T3 and Salvation. VERY BITTER but my balls are tingling right now after that teaser.

I agree with the bitterness of those 2 shitty movies. But this trailer doesn't give us much hope.. And they ruined the god damn music with adding electric guitar... wtf

Do you get paid to be a "hater"? You've seen 3 brief shots and that's enough to say it looks like shit? Just go find a hole to live in, you contribute nothing to the world with an attitude like that.

those 3 shots look like shit though

It's hard to judge based on these two shots, but based on the photos released a couple weeks ago, this does look like a heaping pile of dung.

The T-1000 looked better in Terminator 2: Judgment Day in 1991 than it does in 2014.

I wasnt going to say anything because you know, i have a rep of being the 'negative troll' around here but heh, seems im not the only one. Kinda reminds me of JP trailer. 1993 cgi looked better. But short clips, lets see it tomorrow.

Still not sure after those lame pics that were released. The full trailer needs to blow its critics away to give this a chance.

Just let us know the answer to the big question we've all had for what will be for over 30 years!! Does John tell Kyle who he really is before the time jump??
Jeff Bauer on Dec 3, 2014
37
He lets it slip by accident. He says, "Go get 'em dad." Kyle responds, "Huh?" John replies, "Uhmm....dad, dad...daddy-o..." It's a clear Back to the Future ripoff...

Ugh... they should just give up on these Terminator films. This keeps looking worse and worse, the plot rumours surrounding it are stupid and it's reminding me more and more of Green Lantern (a great waste of a good cast, crew and director). Instead of making terrible movies, why don't they give this kind of budget to a Terminator video game instead? Video games make a lot of money, and there hasn't been a good Terminator game since... ever! The best thing the Terminator franchise produced (apart from the masterful first-two films) is the TV series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (which ironically starred Game of Thrones cast member, Lena Headey as Sarah Connor, a character who is now being played by Emilia Clarke, who is ANOTHER cast member on Game of Thrones), which got cancelled after two great seasons. I hope that, like Salvation, this film flops hard and lets these actors move onto bigger, better projects.

"I hope that, like Salvation, this film flops hard" Why even say that? You haven't seen this movie and you want it to flop? WHY? I hope it's a great ride when I go see it.

Just got up and watched it. I don't know, but that trailer looked pretty darn good. I love how they have reset the whole timeline... they can do some interesting things with time travel now.
FeliXinside on Dec 4, 2014

I respect that, I'm just not excited for the film because the action looks tedious and the plot seems like a mess. I hate how current screenwriters ALWAYS have to complicate things, they can't just keep things simple any more. Keeping it simple is what worked with the first-two instalments, the other two failed because they tried too hard to complicate things. I predict this film will be worse than Rise of the Machines and Salvation, but that's just me.
thejon93rd on Dec 4, 2014
53
Hopefully it's one of the best. Have to wait and see. They have a planned trilogy so they must have faith in it. (although Salvation was also a planned trilogy).
