Teresa Palmer Taking Lead Female Role in Remake of 'Point Break'

After getting caught up with superpowered aliens in I Am Number Four and recovering zombies in Warm Bodies, the lovely Australian actress Teresa Palmer is heading into remake territory. Alcon Entertainment has announced that Palmer is taking the female lead in their remake of the action thriller Point Break starring Edgar Ramirez (who replaced the departed Gerard Butler) in the role of Bodhi, originated by Patrick Swayze, and Luke Bracey as Johnny Utah, the role played by Keanu Reeves. It's not clear how pivotal of a role Palmer will have, but if it follows suit of the original, she won't have a large amount of screentime.
Our best guess is that Palmer will play Utah's significant other in the film, but maybe the remake changes the story a bit and allows for a female role to get more involved in the story. Palmer is currently busy shooting Triple Nine with director John Hillcoat, and she's supposed to have a role in Terrence Malick's Knight of Cups, if she doesn't end up on the cutting room floor, as can frequently happen with his films. The Aussie actress is certainly on the rise to becoming a much bigger star with unique supporting roles in a variety of films, and we hope to see more of her in the future.

Point Break. The movie of my teenage years. I saw it dozens of times. Still consider it one of the movies of my life.
