The cast of Joel & Ethan Coen's next film Hail Caesar already sounded promising with George Clooney and Josh Brolin as part of the cast, and now it's just gotten even better. THR has word Wes Anderson's The Grand Budapest Hotel stars Ralph Fiennes and Tilda Swinton are in talks to join the film, along with Channing Tatum. The film follows a man named Eddie Mannix (Clooney), who works for the movie studios of Hollywood in the 1950s as a fixer, someone who protects the reputations of their biggest stars from being tarnished. And the roles of our new stars fit right into the the golden age of Hollywood setting.
Swinton will play a powerful Hollywood gossip columnist while Fiennes will play Laurence Lorenz, a studio film director. Meanwhile, Tatum will play a movie star similar to Gene Kelly. The trade says there's "many colorful characters" in the script, so there's likely plenty more talent that will be announced to join the film as well. This sounds like a great comedy to follow-up their somewhat depressing Inside Llewyn Davis. This is another awesome film for Tatum, who will be seen getting serious in Foxcatcher with Steve Carell and Mark Ruffalo later this year, and may be up for some Oscar accolades.
