Tom Cruise Explores the 'Edge of Tomorrow' in 13-Minute Featurette

Edge of Tomorrow

With just under two weeks until Tom Cruise gets back in action with the sci-fi blockbuster Edge of Tomorrow, it looks like Warner Bros. is sending up a bit of a hail mary for those who haven't entire picked up on the story from the previous trailers. The easiest way to describe the film is Groundhog Day or Source Code with an alien invasion. But a new 13-minute featurette led by Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt dives even deeper into the characters, the aliens, the plot, the action and just might show too much from the film and the co-stars kicking some ass and dying over and over. But the buzz has been good, so we're on board.

Here's the extended featurette for Doug Liman's Edge of Tomorrow, direct from YouTube:

Edge of Tomorrow is set in the distant future during war between a race of aliens called Mimics and the human race. A soldier fighting in a war with aliens finds himself caught in a time loop of his last day in the battle, though he becomes better skilled along the way. Tom Cruise plays Lt. Col. Bill Cage, an untrained and ill-equipped officer who is dropped "into what amounts to little more than a suicide mission," but gets stuck in a time loop on the same mission. Doug Liman (Go, Bourne Identity, Jumper) is directing. Warner Bros will release Edge of Tomorrow, formerly All You Need is Kill, in theaters everywhere June 6th this year. Brenden is doing his accent! Yes! // Tom Cruise is 51 years of age. Man knows how to live well.

I can't wait to see this. Tom Cruise, despite all the Scientology bs, is a great and hard working actor. I get the feeling from him that he cares about the movies he plays in and wants them to be awesome, and not just for the money but for every other reason movie goers go to see movies in the first place.

Agreed. I think he loves doing what he does as an actor.

"Xenophobia." A fear of Tom Cruise.

Not sure if serious...

This "Cruise Phobia" is just laughable. The dude defined cinema during my Teens. Who cares what his beliefs are. So he's a bid of an odd ball. I have friends that are stranger than him. EOT looks interesting. I hope theres more to it than what we see here tho. Also, Why the hell does his helmet sit on his head like hes a 12 yrs old kid? Looks ridiculous.
