During the summer, we learned that Marvel's Thor and The Avengers villainous star Tom Hiddleston would head into completely different territory by playing country music legend Hank Williams in a biopic called I Saw the Light. Some fans of the legendary musician and singer have been rather skeptical about Hiddleston taking the role, so he decided to try his hand at singing as Hank Williams in front of an audience at the Wheatland Music Festival up in Remus, Michigan. Thankfully, someone was smart enough to grab video of one of the performances (he did several over the weekend) and we're pretty impressed. Watch it!
Here's Tom Hiddleston singing "Move It On Over" at the Wheatland Music Festival (via THR):

We can't say that Hiddleston sounds exactly like Williams, but Joaquin Phoenix didn't sound exactly like Johnny Cash in Walk the Line either. The photograph below the video comes from a second performance where Hiddleston sang “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry," but no one grabbed video of that (or it just hasn't been uploaded yet if they did). These two songs and more are expected to be sung by Hiddleston in the film from producer Brett Ratner and Flash of Genius director Marc Abraham, working from his own script based on a biography on Williams by Colin Escott. Production begins next month in Louisiana. Sounding good?

If I didn't know it was Hiddleston, I would never have guessed. Goes to show that when people drop their accent, or sing (or both in this case), you have some serious WTH? moments. Check out RDJ for another celeb that sounds *nothing* like his speaking voice when he sings.
