Warner Bros. Releasing 'Tarzan' with Alexander Skarsgard in July 2016

After casting has been slowly revealed, Warner Bros. announced their new adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs' classic jungle hero Tarzan will hit theaters on July 1st, 2016 in 3D. The summer holiday release indicates the studio's confidence in their new property which features "True Blood" star Alexander Skarsgard as the title hero and The Wolf of Wall Street leading lady Margot Robbie as his female counterpart Jane Porter. There's not confirmed much in the vein of plot details, but the press release says it will follow the man orphaned as a baby and raised in the jungle as he returns to the urban jungle of London.
Previously, we'd heard the film from Harry Potter franchise director David Yates would follow Tarzan as The Queen asks him to investigate some conflict in the Congo, where he teams with ex-mercenary George Washington Williams to save the area from a warlord who controls a massive diamond mine. When that information came out, Christoph Waltz was said to be playing some sort of military figure, so he's most likely playing the warlord. Meanwhile, Samuel L. Jackson would make for a solid mercenary sidekick. We're not sure if this really has the makings of a true summer blockbuster but we'll find out in 2016. Cool?

The farther movie studios project future projects the older I feel. Being excited for films and realizing I'll be 30+ when they premiere in 2, 3, 5 years time. That's an odd feeling.

Oskar Schindler was played by an irish man, and look how that turned out... Isn't the whole point of acting to be something you are not?
