While we're still waiting for Eli Roth to turn his Grindhouse trailer for the bloody horror Thanksgiving into a feature length film, another project with the same writers is coming sooner. Robot & Frank writer Chirs Ford and Jon Watts teamed with Roth to turn the fake horror trailer Clown into a feature length film. Watts is directing the film starring Andy Powers as a loving father who finds a clown suit for his son's birthday party, only to realize the suit is part of an evil curse that turns its wearer into a killer. Now the first trailer for the twisted film is here, ensuring that anyone who isn't already scared of clowns will be soon.

Here's the first trailer for Jon Watts' Clown from The Film Stage:

Clown is produced by horror mastermind Eli Roth and directed by Jon Watts, from a script he co-wrote with Chris Ford. Based on a fake horror trailer, the film follows a father who puts on a clown costume for his son’s birthday, but a curse doesn't allow him to take it off and turns him into a brutal killer. Andy Powers stars in the film along with Laura Allen and Peter Stormare, but the film doesn't have a release date yet. We expect it to hit some film festivals, maybe South by Southwest in March, so stay tuned for anymore updates.

I totally want to find someone with coulrophobia (fear of clowns) and take them to see this movie surreptitiously. Yes, I am a sadist.

You could end up curing them!! When they get pissed you just say, "I was trying to help you get over it".

Peter Stormare is the sole reason I will be watching this movie. Every bit of acting that man has ever done is pure gold.

As is Jon Voight, but i know you will agree with me on that. But to get back on topic, you are so right about Stormare. There is something so intensely brilliant about that old swedisch bastard that makes me want to see every movie he is in. I even watched Constantine, but hey, Tilda was in that too...

This is true.

This looks incredible. I would have been totally onboard with a campy film along the lines of Stiches, but the fact that it takes itself serious and is going for the scares makes it look even better.

WHY SO SERIOUS, CLOWN?? There can only be 1! On a serious note though, thats a pretty cool original idea. I dig it.

its gone... aww

This looks like it could be very good. I'm glad they decided not to go with the campy grindhouse look and feel.

This was not that good. Don't see what's so special about Eli Roth other than his last name.
