The Amazing Spider-Man 2

"You wanted to be the hero. Now you gotta pay the price." If the New Year's Eve tease wasn't enough to keep the excitement going for this summer's The Amazing Spider-Man 2, well the big game on Sunday should amp things up a bit. There will be a full Super Bowl spot for the comic book sequel from director Marc Webb this weekend, but in order to tickle your tastebuds, the first half (around 30 seconds) has been released online. It ends on a cliffhanger, and it might be a hint at the future fate of Spidey's girlfriend Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone), which shouldn't be unfamiliar to the comic fans. Or it could be misdirection. Watch!

Here's the first part of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Super Bowl spot from Sony Pictures:

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is directed by Marc Webb and written by Jeff Pinker, Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman. Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) finds, life is busy between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can't come quickly enough. Peter hasn't forgotten the promise he made to Gwen's father to protect her by staying away, but that's a promise he just can't keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past. Sony will release Amazing Spider-Man 2 in theaters this summer on May 2nd. Excited yet?

Green Goblin still looks like crap, Rhino still looks like crap, CGI still looks heavily video gameish (Although not so bad have seen worse) , Electro still looks like a reject from the Blue Man group, and Andrew Garfield still looks stupid as Peter Parker. There I'm done complaining. The only thing they have got right was Spider-Man's costume which is %100 improved.

Happy Rhino is still in this; just unhappy he's in a mech suit. Hoping if he makes a return in 3 and 4 and so on, he'll eventually turn into the real Rhino we all so know and love

"You wanted to be the hero. Now you gotta pay the price." Not gonna lie, that line gave me chills. Especially with the ending cliffhanger shot. I wasn't really a fan of the first trailer, but this one has piqued my interest.

Why does the CGI look so bad?

Okay, answer me this: how can you make a super-powered man clothed in red and blue spandex swinging through an incredible maze of machinery while dodging enormous blasts of lightning from an electrically charged, levitating blue man look any more realistic? Stop complaining.

Okay, answer me this: how can you make a super-powered man clothed in red and blue spandex swinging through an incredible maze of machinery on webs that he shoots out of his wrists all while dodging enormous blasts of lightning from an electrically charged, levitating blue man look any more realistic? Stop complaining.

It's amazing how people love to bitch about a movie that hasn't even been released yet. Whiners gonna whine, I guess?

Ali it is because most people hate their lives so they need to hate on something else to make them feel better about themselves!

Well, for starters, I don't like the fact that Jon Voight is not in it...

Nash on Jan 31, 2014

Lmao. <3 Imagine how much sexier this movie would be if Mr.Voight was in it.

ali3000 on Jan 31, 2014

Imagine the sexyness of this movie if we would bring in Brian Cox.

I'm calling it now. Gwen dies in this one and she appears in the third one through flashbacks.

It's such a disappointment that Norman isn't the Goblin in this one, but his son is? Give me a break. I'm sure that this film will be good, at least (hopefully) better than the boring first instalment, but this whole Green Goblin fiasco is rather demeaning and truly unfaithful to the comics (if Harry's the one who kills Gwen, and not Norman, if she does end up dying that is, then I'm done with this series, I'd rather wait for Marvel Studios to get full-rights than have to sit through another mediocre Spider-Man film from Sony... yet again).

If you think this is bad why don't you go check out who is playing Lex Luthor in the next Superman movie!! If Ben Affleck wasn't bad enough we get Gal Gadot as Wonder Pussy, then if that wasn't worse, we get Jesse fucking Eisenberg (Nervous Nelly) as Lex Luthor!! Unreal.

LOL, I literally had to look that up to see if you were joking. 😀 That's the most ridiculous casting decision I've heard in years, but I'm happy to see that Jeremy Irons is going to be the new Alfred (I think that man's a hugely underrated actor who definitely deserves more roles).

Super awful. I hope this is not the fate of the X-Men/F4 Franchises.
