Watch: First Teaser Trailer for 'The Conjuring' Spin-Off 'Annabelle'
"I like your dolls." Hot on the heels of yesterday's underwhelming trailer for the horror adventure Ouija, there's some much better terror on the way. Annabelle is a spin-off of James Wan's horror hit The Conjuring. The film focuses on the creepy doll featured as part of the collection of paranormal objects owned by Lorraine and Ed Warren (played by Patrick Wilson & Vera Farmiga), but this tale takes place before the events of The Conjuring, showing more of the story behind this creepy, evil doll. However, beyond what's show in the trailer, we don't know what kind of story to expect in this spin-off. Watch below!
Here's the first trailer for John Leonetti's Annabelle from Warner Bros. Pictures:
Annabelle is directed by John Leonetti (the director of photography on The Conjuring making his feature directorial debut) and written by Gary Dauberman (Hell Hath No Fury, Swamp Devil), inspired by James Wan's 2013 horror film The Conjuring. The story of the doll comes from a case investigated by Ed and Lorraine Warren in which a college student was beset by a demon manipulating the doll, but plot details on Annabelle's origin are under wraps. Annabelle Wallis, Alfre Woodard, Ward Horton, Tony Amendola and more star in the film which Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema release on October 3rd. Scary stuff?
If they were trying to succeed in making this a straight up comedy, then I can say they were successful IMO. "I like your dollsss" lol. Oh gosh everything looks like pure comedic gold right, the only thing that's scary is how this ever managed to get a green light.

I agree! I personally thought The Conjuring was damn good but this looks like a pure cash-in to me. It doesn't look scary in the slightest. James Wan you have officially sold out my friend (and yes I know he didn't direct it).

I was pleasantly surprised by The Conjuring, so i'm excited to see how this turns up. Trailer seems like a good taste of what's to come.

Indeed. Rarely actually scared by movies, could have been atmospheric (late at night, roaring thunderstorm, alone,). Definitely underrated imo.

The thing that makes the chuckie movies watchable is that they dont take themselves to seriously. I cant say that applies here. The only reason i have any interest whatsoever in this is that the doll was just a completely irrelevant plot device in the first movie (one of my main issues with an otherwise great movie), it would be nice to give it some actual purpose.

A crazy murderer has their soul attached to a doll. Where have I seen this before? Oh yeah, Child's Play. Come on guys. You're not even trying anymore!

meh.....demonic dolls - If there is going to be a conjuring spinoff, I'd rather it be about the warrens experiences and get Wilson and farmiga back.

Looks much better than I expected it to.

Shit, I'd grab that bitch ass doll by the legs and slam her face into the wall about 100 times and THEN SEE WHO'S BOSS!!
